Digital Unsealing: the two islands, Cyprus, and Crete, are implementing two new pilot workshops for the digitization of ecclesiastical and cultural wealth.
The “Digital Unsealing of Sacred Islands” is an innovative, pilot project, of the highest scientific and technical standards that creates standard infrastructures and methodologies for the homogeneous and ongoing recording and protection of the ecclesiastical cultural heritage of the island churches of Cyprus and Crete.
MADE Consultants undertook the technical support of the project partner PP4, Communication and Educational Foundation of the Holy Archdiocese of Crete for the implementation of digitization activities of the cultural heritage of the church of Crete.
The vision of the “Digital Unsealing of the Sacred Islands” is:
- the creation of two standard, fully staffed and state-of-the-art, equipped laboratories for the digital depiction of ecclesiastical cultural property, one in Cyprus and one in Crete,
- the acquirement of equipment, software, and infrastructures for digital depiction of cultural areas, cultural objects and cultural archives,
- the creation of intercommunication systems, management of ecclesiastical cultural content, “archetype”, disposal of digital material and services, geographical information, storage of treasured fields of cultural knowledge, etc.
