Technical support for the submission of proposals for the selection of Local Development Strategies with Local Communities Initiative under Union Priority 3 “Promoting a sustainable blue economy in coastal, island and inland areas and promoting the development of fishing and aquaculture communities”

In the context of priority 3 “Promoting a sustainable blue economy in coastal, island and inland areas and promoting development” of the Fisheries, Aquaculture and Sea Programme 2021 – 2027, MADE Consultants undertook the technical support for Local Fisheries Action Group of the Fishing Zone of Eastern Macedonia – Thrace and the Fishing Zone of the Attica Islands – SE Peloponnese for the submission of proposals under the LEADER intervention.

In cooperation with the Kavala Development Agency, the Rhodope Development Agency, the Evros Development Agency, the Attica Islands Network, the Parnonas Development Agency and the Messinia Development Agency, our company prepared strategic local development plans.

Local development strategies have as a key feature “bottom-up” planning, thus creating the conditions for close, continuous and multi-level cooperation between many actors at the local level. The local strategies that are designed contribute – among other things – to reducing inter- and intra-regional inequalities. The Local Development Strategies with Local Communities Initiative should ensure that local communities in fisheries and aquaculture areas better exploit and benefit from the opportunities offered by the sustainable blue economy, using and enhancing the environmental, cultural, social and human resources of the area concerned.
