The implementation of the pilot action of the project “Waste ashore!” begins in Mylopotamos.
The pilot action concerns the pioneering businesses that wish to adapt in time, to the new Greek law and the European Union’s directives about single used plastics, and to contribute in general to the protection of the environment.
The pilot action will last 6 months and only a limited number of businesses of the coastal Mylopotamos can participate. These companies will receive free consulting support from the Mediterranean Information Office for Environment, Culture, and Sustainable Development for the implementation of measures and practices that will reduce their environmental footprint.
The aim is to highlight Mylopotamos area as pioneer in reducing both disposable plastics and the problems they create in the marine environment and beyond. At the end of the action, the businesses that will have successfully completed their commitments, will receive a certificate as environmentally responsible businesses which they will be able to post and use for promotional purposes.
